The VoI commemorated the 45th anniversary of the 1981 Ad Hoc Committee of Canadian Women on the Constitution, recognizing its lasting impact on equality rights in Canada. The program featured a keynote address by Isha Khan, CEO of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, along with tributes to “Four Femtors” in their 80s; Jeanette Corbiere Lavell, Nancy Ruth, Jean Augustine, and Michele Landsberg, whose contributions have shaped Canadian history, over decades.
This event brought together civil society leaders, policymakers, advocates, educators, and community leaders to reflect on progress, ongoing challenges, and the role of leadership in advancing equality. The second day featured dialogues between women Senators and civil society leaders.
