Heather Evans joins IWRP!

Heather Evans is a feminist activist, social justice educator and gender-based violence researcher with over a decade of experience as a women’s human rights defender in East Asia, Southeast Asia and North America. She has a Master’s Degree in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University, and will do her doctoral research on sexualized violence in post-conflict contexts.

IWRP provides research to a number of UN working groups and Special Rapporteurs and Heather is providing research assistance to the UN Special Rapporteur on Contemporary forms of slavery. She is our main IWRP liason to the Women’s Human Rights Institute, taking place this year in June 2015.
