IWRP new Director of the Women and Peace Program

Emma will be focusing on our Women and Peacebuilding area. She holds a Master of Arts in Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University. Emma recently completed a 5-month internship at United Nations Women in New Delhi India, where she focused her research on drafting a National Action Plan for the Indian Government on UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. Additionally, she published numerous articles for the United Nations Information Center for India and Bhutan Newsletter. Emma has recently returned from Palestine where she was conducting Canadian Government Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funded research on the gendered nature of peacebuilding in the region. In addition to India and Palestine, Emma has experience working in Sierra Leone, Cambodia and Vanuatu.
