Welcoming Project Manager Alicja Borzyszkowska

IWRP is very honoured to announce that Alicja Borzyszkowska will be working with us at IWRP as a Project Manager. Her impressive bio is found below. She will also coordinate our long time partnership with Global Girl Media.

Alicja’s work, which combines field intervention, international projects, and research, focuses on the impact of armed conflict and displacement on women and children. As a Project Manager at the International Women’s Rights Project, she specializes in the intersection of law and media to empower young women affected by displacement. In partnership with Global Girl Media, she designs programs that equip displaced young women with media training, advocacy skills, and platforms to amplify their voices.
For the past eight years, Alicja has worked to improve the welfare of displaced youth across the Middle East and North Africa, with a particular focus on refugees from Syria, Palestine, and Yemen. She has developed trauma-informed curricula for students in refugee camps, led art therapy workshops, provided expert guidance on gender-based violence and MEAL programming, and conducted research to improve the effectiveness of development aid. As a recipient of the 2021 Gallatin Global Fellowship in Human Rights, Alicja collaborated with Human Rights Watch in France to investigate policy gaps surrounding the protection and agency of unaccompanied migrant children in Calais. Alicja graduated with honors in Social Research and Public Policy from New York University Abu Dhabi, where she also earned minors in Legal Studies and Arabic.”
