Women’s Human Rights Institute, Nepal


The IWRP participated in the Women’s Human Rights Institute in Kathmandu, Nepal from August 2 to 15, 2014. The WHRI has a particular focus on supporting women’s human rights activism through developing feminist analysis, understanding the herstory and application of the international women’s human rights system and principles of human rights education. It has a unique focus on group process, self-care, and self-awareness, as well as visioning alternatives to corporate globalization. The WHRI is a collaborative project between the Fundación Justicia y Género of Costa Rica and the Centre for Women’s Studies in Education at OISE, University of Toronto. IWRP Director Susan Bazilli was invited to participate as a resource person along with faculty Alda Facio, Shanthi Dairiam, Martha Morgan and WHRI Director Angela Lytle.
